Kristiana Kahakauwila is a 2015-16 Fellow at Harvard's Radcliffe Institute of Advanced Study and an assistant professor of creative writing at Western Washington University. Her debut, This is Paradise: Stories (Hogarth 2013), was a selection of the Barnes & Noble Discover Great New Writers program. At present she is working on a historical novel, a multigenerational family saga set against the fight for water and native rights on the Hawaiian island of Maui.
